Even in '200 we see evidence of the presence of the Franciscan community in Montagnana, based in the Church of S. Francis, which was probably built in 1350 even though the date may not be exact given the Romantic style of some elements on the building and it seems that originally it should have been smaller both in height and length. Even today the convent hosts a community of Clarisse nuns. Also remarkable is the fif- teenth century bell tower which stands out near the city wall.
